Further down the Volga River and we reach Lake Onega and smack in the middle of the lake is the Island of Kizhi, 6 km long and 1 km wide. There in the middle of the Island is the 22 dome Transfiguration church totally made of wood, to the right of it is the Church of the Raising of Lazarus. It is totally made of wood even the nails that were used were wooden.
